Illinois State opens fall football training camp Friday
NORMAL (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Illinois State opened its fall football training camp Friday at Hancock Stadium.
The Redbirds have a fresh look this season with a new QB in Minnesota transfer Zack Annexstad.
After a disappointing season a year ago, coach Brock Spack says he’s excited to get camp started and is very excited about this year’s team.
“We got a really good team from a lot of standpoints,” he said. “We’re much deeper than we were a year ago. COVID wasn’t good for us. I don’t know why it just gutted our team and we’ve really had to start over again. Really like our players, their approach coached, they’ve been excellent.”
ISU opens its season September 3 at Wisconsin.
