1 person wounded in shooting near Peoria’s Glen Oak Park

UPDATE 12:05 p.m. - Peoria Police spokesperson Semone Roth says the victim is a juvenile male, and it was determined by police that the gunshot wound was accidentally self-inflicted.

During the course of the investigation, officers received information that led them to a residence in the 2100 block of North Central, where a crime scene was located in the basement.

PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Peoria Police said one person was shot in the leg late Wednesday in a shooting that happened near Glen Oak Park.

A police spokesperson said officers were called about 10:50 p.m. to the 1100 block of East Republic Street, close to North Central Avenue.

Police said the victim, a male, was “alert and responding” but no other information was available about his condition.

Police also had no information about any suspects late Wednesday night.
