PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - This year Peoria Art Guild’s hosted its annual auction based on Ken Hoffman.

A past Bradley University professor recognized as one of the most outstanding professors. Students have benefited from his dedication to teaching and his guidance in preparing them for careers in art.

Hoffman was diagnosed with cancer and undergoing treatment at which he still visit Heuser Art Center and taught his students.

His passion for art and personal creation never stopped him no matter the struggle he faced.

Executive Director Shannon Cox sheds light on the importance Hoffman is to others.

“He has been such a wonderful artist in the community, people love him and his work, and everything here is influenced by him, ” said Cox.

Hoffman and other artist created 20 paintings of which will be sold in a silent auction. Part of the proceeds will go back to the artist and to the Peoria Art Guild for improving the art studio facilities.

Last year $9,000 was raised for this annual event.
