Mostly dry weekend, but storms and heat return on Monday

PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Overall we will see lots of dry time this weekend, but showers and storms will return to the forecast next week. Hot and humid conditions will return next week too.

Holiday Weekend Forecast:

A few lingering showers will be possible this evening, then skies will clear overnight. Lows tomorrow morning will be in the low 60s.

Expect mostly sunny skies tomorrow morning with more clouds during the afternoon. It’s not impossible for us to see an isolated shower or two tomorrow, but chances are low. Highs will be in the mid 80s.

Sunday will be mostly sunny and warm with highs in the upper 80s.

Showers and storms will be possible again on Monday, as early as the afternoon and/or evening. A few storms may be strong at times. Monday will also be hot and humid with highs near 90 and heat index values possibly near 100.

We’ll continue to watch the timing of any storms on Monday carefully for any 4th of July celebrations.

Next Week:

Hot and humid conditions will be likely for most of next week. Tuesday and Wednesday look like they will be the hottest next week with highs as high as the mid 90s and heat index values as high as 105.

Daily rain chances will be possible, although chances will be highest Monday, Thursday and Friday. Dry weather looks possible again by next weekend.
