8:30 PM UPDATE: Peoria Police say the man, who was shot earlier Tuesday afternoon has died.

Police say they were called to the 1000 block of West McClure Avenue regarding someone who had been shot, while patrol officers saying the suspect had fled the scene.

Lifesaving measures were begun by officers, AMT, and the Peoria Fire Department.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

During the investigation, officers identified 41-year-old Rev. I. Blakes as a suspect. So far, he has not been found, and Police are asking for your help in finding him.

Blakes is described as a black male, approximately 5′11″ 160 pounds, short black hair, and brown eyes.

He is wanted on charges of First-Degree Murder.

Police say if he is seen, please notify the police immediately, as Blakes is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Peoria Police say a man in his 30′s is in critical condition after being shot Tuesday afternoon.

Chief Eric Echevarria says it happened around 4:15 PM on West McClure, near Broadway.

The Chief adds there is no suspect information yet, but add that this is an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the community.
