PEORIA HEIGHTS (Heart of Illinois ABC) - At least two people were taken to the hospital after a crash involving multiple vehicles Thursday.

According to a release, the Peoria Fire Department responded to a mutual aid call with Peoria Heights at War Memorial Drive and Atlantic with what appeared to be a four-vehicle crash with entrapment.

One person was unable to get out of their vehicle while the occupants of the others were out when first responders arrived.

The fire department says a passenger van was resting on top of a smaller car and two other vehicles had major damage to them.

Firefighters used spreaders and cutters to safely get the victim out of her vehicle - she appeared to have non-life-threatening injuries.

Damage is estimated at $50,000.

The Peoria Fire Department responded at around 12:45 p.m. to the incident.
