Dry weather continues with highs near 90 today
PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Plenty of sunshine and dry time is on tap again Thursday. Highs will be above average in the upper 80s near 90, but humidity will be low, so it won’t feel too uncomfortable. More of the same is expected Friday with the exception of some more clouds.
Saturday we’re tracking the return of rain to the forecast. We’ll likely see two rounds of showers and storms. The first being morning near 6am through 10 am. The rest of the day looks relatively dry until a cold front will enter the region late and that may spark a few isolated thunderstorms. The line of showers and storms will more in closer to 10 PM and the line will be weaking as it crosses our viewing area. Areas west of the IL river could see an isolated strong to severe cell with the main concerns being strong winds and large hail.
The cold front will bring in cooler temperatures for the second half of the weekend. Lows 80s and partly sunny skies will be on tap for Sunday and that trend will continue into the start of the work week.
