PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) -Replacing Jesse White seems to interest both major political parties.

One of the 6 candidates for Secretary of State came to Peoria Friday.

David Moore flew into 5 cities across Illinois, from Rockford in the north to Marion in the south.

He is currently an Alderman in Chicago.

And says this post - if elected - would not be a not a stepping stone for him.

“I am not looking to be the next Senator, or the next Governor. This is my last stop. So I just want to completely serve the residents of this state and bring ideas, using my accounting background that I spent 10 years in the private sector as, making sure that I’m a fiscal manager, keeping those fees low and running an effective, efficient operation,” Moore said.

After Peoria, David Moore took off for Springfield.

He faces three other fellow democrats in the race - Alex Giannoulias, Anna Valenica and Sidney Moore, plus two republicans - Dan Brady and John Milhiser.

David Moore is also a cousin of former 25 News Today anchor Garry Moore.
