‘Jaws of Life’ used to free driver in Friday night three-vehicle crash
PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Just before midnight Friday, emergency crews responded to the intersection of Sterling and War Memorial Dr. to a three-vehicle crash.
The driver of one of the cars was trapped inside.
Crews on scene used hydraulic cutters, commonly referred to as ‘Jaws of Life,’ to free the driver.
According to a press release from Battalion Chief Michael Hughes, the driver was safely extricated from the car and sent to a local hospital. As of Saturday morning, there is no report on the extent of the injuries.
The occupants of the other cars involved in the crash were treated on scene and released.
This incident is under investigation by the Peoria Police Department.
