Strong or severe storms possible through this evening
A few strong storms possible tomorrow too
PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Periodic showers and storms will continue for the next day or two, but our main focus will be on this afternoon and evening as a few storms could become strong or severe. By the end of week, rain chances will go down and eventually summer heat and humidity will return by the upcoming holiday weekend.
This Evening Through Tomorrow Morning:
Showers and storms are expected to continue at times this afternoon and evening. Some of these may be strong or severe through 9 PM. The main concern will be the risk for a few isolated tornadoes. High winds and heavy rain may be possible at times too.
After 9 PM, we will still see showers and non-severe storms continue overnight. Locally heavy rain may be possible at times. Lows will be in the low 60s.

Tomorrow and Friday:
Tomorrow’s weather should be fairly similar to what we saw today, although our risk for severe storms will be lower. A strong storm or two may be possible tomorrow afternoon though. Highs winds and hail would be the main threats within any strong storms tomorrow.
Eventually, rain will taper off tomorrow night into Friday morning. We’ll be a little cooler over the next few days with highs in the low 70s.
The Next Big Thing:
Summer-like heat and humidity return to the forecast for Memorial Day Weekend, especially on Sunday and Monday. Highs will reach the mid 80s on Sunday and near 90 on Monday.
