PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - More of the same is expected tomorrow as lows overnight will again fall into the mid to upper 40s. Highs will climb into the mid to upper 60s, slightly warmer than Sunday. We’ll see sunny skies to start, then have some passing middle to high level clouds throughout the late morning and afternoon, so some more filtered sunshine.

Clouds will begin to build in overnight Monday into Tuesday. This is ahead of the Next Big Thing that will bring nuisance weather to the forecast, and by that we mean rain chances Tuesday through Thursday. Showers are possible in the evening Tuesday, but better widespread, steady rainfall looks to arrive overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. A few rumbles of thunder are possible to wake you up as well Wednesday morning and look sub-severe if some storms form. Models are showing some decent rainfall accumulation possible by Wednesday afternoon from this system. As of now, it looks possible to see up to an inch or more in localized locations.

This system will be slow to exit, so rain chances will linger for at least the first half of the day on Thursday. We begin to dry out Thursday night into Friday where dry weather and sunshine returns to the forecast. Highs Friday will be in the mid to upper 70s, then we jump into the 80s heading into Memorial Day weekend.
