Two displaced after Saturday apartment fire in Peoria
PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Two people are displaced after an apartment fire early Saturday morning that officials are ruling accidental.
It happened around 4:00 AM on North Brandywine Dr., when first responders were called for an appliance fire at the three-story apartment complex. The fire was found to have started on the kitchen stove, and was quickly put out. There was heavy damage to the kitchen area, and smoke and soot damage throughout the unit.
Two occupants of the apartment evacuated before firefighters arrived at the scene. Both were treated and released at the scene by paramedics. Occupants of all other apartments were safely evacuated, and no other injuries were reported.
