(WEEK) - A Washington man missing for three days was found dead from a health-related issue after heading to Marshall County to search for morel mushrooms.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office says Richard Simpson, 61, was found dead Sunday after his family contacted the office around noon that day - not hearing from him since Thursday, May 12.

An investigation by the sheriff’s office and Marshall County Coroner’s Office revealed Simpson to have suffered a health-related issue causing his death - foul play is not suspected.

His family located his truck parked at Hopewell Estates on Route 29 but were unable to locate him.

Deputies responded and searched the immediate area before contacting the Lacon-Sparland and Chillicothe fire departments, AMT and the Peoria County Search and Rescue Team.

He was located shortly after the search began.
