Sunny and seasonable start to the week
Mainly clear to partly cloudy viewing conditions for tonight’s lunar eclipse
PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Scattered showers have struggled to work through the viewing area as we are still too dry. Air should become more saturated closer to dinner time for a few showers to form, but overall, not a wash out by any means. Skies will begin to clear west to east after dinner time. Areas west of the river will likely have the best viewing conditions to see the tonight’s lunar eclipse. The partial eclipse begins near 9:30 pm, then the complete eclipse is at 11:11 pm! The moon will look red as the eclipse is occurring during a blood moon. Areas east of the river will most likely have to look through partly cloudy skies.

Monday will be a day filled with plenty of sunshine and seasonable temperatures. Lows will be in the low to mid 50s and highs in the mid 70s. Winds will be breezy at times from the northwest up to 10-15 mph with 25 mph wind gusts.

More sunshine is on tap Tuesday, but clouds will increase throughout the day ahead of our next system that will bring showers and a chance for some thunderstorms overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning. Highs Tuesday will be slightly warmer in the upper 70s, then back into the mid 70s Wednesday. More rain chances continue into the end of the week.
