(Heart of Illinois ABC) - Friday night was Regional Finals night in Class 1A soccer. Bloomington Central Catholic took home a regional title with an 8-0 win over Peoria Christian. Normal U-High also won a regional championship with a 5-0 win over Macomb.

In tennis, Dunlap had a great day at the Mid-Illini championships. Grant Kroodsma won the singles title while Graham O’Leary and Doug Yoo gave the Eagles the win in doubles. Dunlap also won the team title.

In high school baseball, Normal U-High outlasted Bloomington in a slugfest 9-8. Elsewhere, Morton got win No. 25 on the season with a 5-0 win over East Moline. Limestone led Peoria Notre Dame 7-6 when the game was suspended for lightning in the fourth inning.

In softball, Limestone and Brimfield were tied at 2-2 when that game was suspended for lightning. Bloomington’s Avery Wapp had a big day at the Limestone Tournament, tossing a shutout in a win over Limestone and mashing two homers against Rock Island.

It was also a big singing day at IVC as 12 Grey Ghosts signed their college letters.
