PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - A Peoria man has been found not guilty in connection with a January 2021 homicide in Peoria.
The jury handed down the verdict Thursday night in the case against Marvin Sanders.
This was the second trial for Sanders.
A deadlocked jury was declared a mistrial in January.
Sanders was injured in the shooting outside a gas station on Southwest Adams and South Easton.
He was later arrested for the exchange of gunfire, which left 31-year-old Jevon Gilliam dead.
