Peoria High School to build brand new production space for students
PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Thanks to a big state investment, high school students in the River City will soon be able to explore several exciting career paths.
Peoria Public Schools is in line to get $1.5 million to fund a brand-new audio, visual and digital production space at Peoria High School.
Project leaders say it will allow students to get hands-on experience with professional equipment for modern audio production, graphic design and content creation.
“Ladies and gentlemen - the 21st century is going to require our young people to have access to technology very early in their lives. We know that graphic artists, digital artists, content creation - that isn’t a novelty, it’s a reality. And in business, it’s a necessity.”
The space will have a graphic design studio, a photography center, a digital design lab and even a music studio.
Construction is expected to start during the 2022-23 school year.
