PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - A Peoria man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to the death of his child.

According to court records, Zachary T. Yeo pled guilty to one count of first degree murder Thursday. Other counts against him, including aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery, and another count of first degree murder were dropped.

Connor Yeo was transported to OSF Friday, November 12, 2021, after a call of a two-month-old not breathing.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said Yeo was successfully resuscitated, and aggressively treated for several days at OSF but was unable to recover from his injuries.

He was pronounced deceased Tuesday, November 23 at 11:57 p.m.

An autopsy shows Connor suffered severe blunt force head trauma by another.

Court records add that Yeo must serve 100 percent of his sentence.
