Strong storms possible late tomorrow
Gusty winds and heavy rain possible within any storm
PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - After another hot and humid day today, we’ll start to see some changes to our weather over the next few days. Tomorrow will still be warm, but it won’t be as hot as our recent weather. Showers and storms will be possible later in the day, some of which may be strong or severe. Additional rain chances are expected on Sunday.
Our weather will remain quiet overnight with a few passing clouds. It’ll be warm and muggy once again, but it shouldn’t be quite as warm as the last few nights.
Lows tomorrow morning will fall back into the mid to upper 60s.
A few isolated showers and storms will be possible tomorrow morning, but chances are low.
Highs will climb into the upper 80s tomorrow afternoon. It’ll still be warm and muggy, but not quite as much as the last few days. Chances for showers and storms will begin to increase late tomorrow afternoon and into tomorrow evening.
The best chance for severe weather will be to our west and closer to the Mississippi River. However, a few strong or possibly severe storms could make their way into our area. If we see any strong or severe storms tomorrow, high winds will be the main risk. Heavy rain will also be possible at times.
The Next Big Thing:
Additional showers and storms will be possible at times this weekend.
We may see a few lingering showers Saturday morning and then an isolated shower or storm closer to I-55 later in the day, but for Saturday looks like a mostly dry day. Another round of showers and storms will be possible on Sunday as a cold front approaches central Illinois. Behind this front, more seasonal and comfortable air will move back in. Highs will drop into the mid to upper 70s for the first half of next week.
