Unintentional residential fire displaces four Tuesday morning

PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Four people are receiving Red Cross housing support after a fire at around 6:59 a.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of South Blaine Street in Peoria.

Peoria Fire Department Battalion Chief Scott Strum said people were evacuating the one and a half story home when crews arrived.

The home has fire damage to the basement and smoke damage throughout.

An investigator determined the cause of the fire to be unintentional.

Damage is estimated at $60,000.

No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported.
