PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Temperatures will continue to climb after a warm and windy start to the work week.

Tuesday: It will feel more like mid-June today as temperatures quickly climb. We’ll start the morning commute in the mid 60′s to lower 70′s. Southerly winds will help drive in warmth today, with highs in the upper 80′s to lower 90′s. Winds will not be as strong as Monday, but gusts up to 20-25 miles per hour will still be possible. Expect mostly sunny skies through much of the day.

Temperatures will run in the upper 80's to lower 90's the next couple of days.

The remnants of a storm complex will pass through the region tonight into early Wednesday morning, brining the chance for scattered showers along with a few thunderstorms. This system will pass before sunrise Wednesday, leaving us with dry conditions. The added moisture from the rain, however; will make it even more humid Wednesday, with heat indices near 100 degrees.

The Next Big Thing: Our next big thing in the forecast will be the chance for showers and thunderstorms heading into the weekend. A few storms will be possible Friday evening, but the best chance for rain over the next 7 days will be Saturday where scattered storms will be possible.
