High School Sports 5-9

PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Washington staked their claim to first place in the Mid-Illini with an emphatic 12-0 win over Metamora on Monday night. Elsewhere, Morton topped Limestone 13-3. In small schools baseball, Peoria Heights beat Peoria Christian 5-4 at Dozer Park while IVC won the Dozer night cap 3-2 over Pleasant Plains.

In softball, Metamora outlasted IVC 1-0 in a pitchers’ duel. In the Mid-Illini, East Peoria blanked Limestone 6-0. Elsewhere, Illini Bluffs beat Tremont 5-1.

In soccer, Washington shutout East Peoria 8-0.

In lacrosse, Dunlap beat Bloomington-Normal 17-10.
