Near-record heat likely this week

PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - We went from cool to summer weather in just a few days! Heat and humidity will be the big story this week with near-record highs expected over the next few days.

Tonight:

We’ll see a few passing clouds overnight with breezy conditions at times. Winds will gust upward of 30 mph.

Lows tomorrow morning will be in the upper 60s.

Tomorrow Through Thursday:

Highs will soar into the low 90s for the next few days. It will also be humid, making it feel like we will be in the mid to upper 90s.

Rain chances look low for the next few days, although a few showers and storms may be possible late tomorrow night and early Wednesday morning as a decaying complex of storms drops in from the north.

The Next Big Thing:

Looking ahead, our Next Big Thing will be a return of thunderstorm chances later this week. While a few showers and storms could be possible on Friday, expect better rain chances on Saturday.
