Firefighters battling fire at Green Gables Bar and Grill in Hudson

HUDSON (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Firefighters are on scene of a fire at the iconic Green Gables Bar and Grill in Hudson.

Assistant Hudson Fire Chief Aaron Kinder says the building is a total loss.

There were reports of people inside, but everyone was out when firefighters arrived.

Firefighters are still working to extinguish hotspots.

Investigators are coming to look into what caused the fire.

A damage estimate is not yet available.

The call came in around 3 p.m.

Our crew on scene reports dozens of devastated people are outside the community staple, known for their burgers.

Lexington, Hudson, Towanda, Elpaso, Gridley, Normal, Carlock and Congerville are on scene.
