High School Sports 5-6

(Heart of Illinois ABC) - The Big 12′s best girls track stars braved the elements at Danville High School on Friday night for the conference meet. Peoria Richwoods finished second as a team behind a big day from freshman Lena Jackson. She won the 100 and 200 and also anchored the Knights’ win in the 4x100 relay. Normal Community’s Ali Ince won the 400, 800 and 1600 individually and also anchored the Iron’s win in the 4x400 to give NCHS the team title.

In soccer, Metamora hosted its Kickin’ Out Cancer event on Friday night. The host Redbirds beat Peoria Christian 4-0. Richwoods and Pekin battled while Limestone blanked East Peoria 4-0.

In tennis, Metamora hosted its Tom Pitchford Invitational.
