Highlights from a rainy day of high school sports
(Heart of Illinois ABC) - Despite the rainy conditions, high school athletes around the area did sneak in a couple of events today. In track, the Mid-Illini girls competed for a conference championship today at least in the running events. Morton has the team lead with the the field events left to be contested.
In soccer, Washington beat Springfield 2-1.
Thursday was also sectional day in the IHSA Bass Fishing State Tournament. At Banner Marsh, Illini Bluffs was the top area team and advanced to state. At Lake Bloomington, it was a clean sweep for local schools with Midland taking home the win and Ridgeview and Lexington also advancing. At Lake McMaster, Dunlap won the sectional title and Princeville also advanced. The state finals are May 20th and 21st at Carlyle Lake
