PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - A garage in Peoria was engulfed in flames that spread to three neighboring homes late Wednesday night.

The Peoria Fire Department was called about 10 p.m. to the fire in the 900 block of South Tonti Circle.

The fire that engulfed the unattached garage spread to three houses, although the fire department said it prevented flames from penetrating the interior of two of the homes.

The fire department said a car that was in the garage is a total loss. A car parked in the driveway was also damaged.

Neighbor Venita K. Good captured the fire on video at its peak before firefighters arrived, then posted the video on her Facebook page.

The battalion chief said everyone got out safely, and no firefighters were hurt. Fire crews rescued a cat from one of the homes.

The Red Cross is caring for two residents who were displaced because of the fire.

Damage is estimated at $75,000. Investigators are trying to determine the cause.
