UPDATE (1:40 a.m.) - Peoria Police said one person was killed and another person wounded in an overnight shooting.

Police spokesperson Semone Roth said officers were called about 11:55 p.m. Tuesday to a pair of back-to-back ShotSpotter alerts at West Wiswall Street and South Madison Park Terrace.

Roth said a male victim was killed and another male was taken to an area hospital. That person’s condition was not immediately available.

Police had no other information about the shooting.

This is Peoria’s 7th homicide this year.

PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - A large police presence was seen early Wednesday morning in a residential neighborhood near Manual High School.

Peoria Police were called about midnight to the 2000 block of West Wiswall Street.

Police on the scene were not available to comment on what happened there, but they used crime scene tape to block off a large area including the intersection of Wiswall and South Madison Park Terrace.
