Warmest day of the year so far Saturday
Rain returns Sunday
PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - We will be drying out this afternoon and evening, and remaining dry for the first half of the weekend. Saturday will feature mostly sunny skies and gusty winds from the south that will funnel in plenty of warm air to boost our highs into the low 80s. Be sure to look out for any outdoor furniture as gusts will be up to 40 mph Saturday.
Clouds will increase in the evening Saturday ahead of a cold front that will bring showers and an isolated thunderstorm Sunday morning into the early afternoon. We look to dry out for the second half of the day, but it will remain breezy and highs will be near 70 degrees. After the cold front passes, the colder air behind it will bring lows into the mid 40s Monday morning and highs in the mid to upper 50s. Much of next week looks dry and cooler, not seeing our next rain chance until Friday and Saturday.
