PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Any precipitation left over from Sunday night’s system will exit east by the morning commute Monday, but you may see some minor snow accumulations on grassy areas north of interstate 74. Temperatures will still be cold with lows in the mid-upper 30s and highs in the upper 40s. Clouds will linger through the morning before decreasing in the afternoon. It will also be windy Monday with winds sustained at 15-25 mph and gusts up to 35 mph.

The below average temperatures will continue into Tuesday with lows near or below freezing and highs in the low 50s. Feel-like temperatures as you head out the door Tuesday will be in the low 20s, so bundle up! We will see more sunshine Tuesday and winds will be light thanks to a high pressure system moving through the region.

The quiet conditions don’t last long as a system arrives overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, and will bring rain showers and windy conditions for most of Wednesday. This week will feature a couple more rain chances Thursday morning and late Thursday night into much of Friday, where thunderstorms return to the forecast. With the rain chances does come a gradual warm up through the week with the 70s expected by Thursday.

Next rainy and windy day will be Wednesday, then more rain and storm chances return at the end...
