Mostly cloudy for much of Easter Sunday with evening rain showers
Below average temperatures continue
PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - It will be a chilly, dry and partly cloudy start Sunday. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 30s in the morning, so you will need a layer or two heading off to church or other Easter day events. Clouds will increase heading into the afternoon, and highs will climb near 50.

There may be an isolated light rain shower in the late afternoon, however the better chances for more widespread rain showers will come near dinner time. Showers will continue through midnight, and areas north of 74 could mix in some light snow showers given temperatures slightly above the freezing mark. Snow showers will be brief and will not accumulate any snow on the ground.

We should be dry by the morning commute on Monday. We will have decreasing clouds and windy conditions with gusts up to 35 mph. Highs will be in the low 50s and skies will be mostly sunny Monday and Tuesday. A couple of cold nights are expected before we warm up. Lows near freezing Saturday night, Sunday night, and Monday night, so patchy frost is possible, and vegetation may be susceptible to freezing conditions.

A nice warm up is on tap for the second half of the work week with 60s on Wednesday and Thursday, and highs near 80 by the start of the weekend. With the warmer weather will come multiple rain chances for late Tuesday night into much of Wednesday, Thursday night, and Friday.
