PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - A new era of Bradley women’s basketball began on Monday as the Braves officially introduced Kate Popovec as the program’s new head coach. Popovec was previously an assistant at Northwestern where she served as the associate head coach, defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator. She’s excited to now have her first head coaching job and is ready to build a winning tradition at Bradley.

“We will work really hard and we’re going to represent Bradley in a first-class way,” Popovec said. “We’re going to play an exciting brand of basketball. I’m grateful for the experiences that have led me to this position and I’m grateful for the opportunity to build a championship program here at the Hilltop. We’re going to do it together. Let’s Go Braves.”

Popovec is the 10th coach in Bradley women’s basketball history.
