(Heart of Illinois ABC) - Windy weather didn’t stop local high school athletes from putting on a show on Tuesday. In baseball, Normal Community edged Peoria Richwoods 4-3 in Big 12 play. Elsewhere, Normal U-High blanked Lanphier 14-0.

In Mid-Illini softball, East Peoria’s Emily Compton tossed a no-hitter in a win over Limestone. Washington was also a Mid-Illini winner with a 10-0 victory over Morton. IVC beat Bureau Valley 3-2 behind 15 strikeouts from Katie Petran.

In soccer, Morton senior Jenna Samp scored the game-winning goal with less than four minutes remaining to lift the Potters to a 1-0 win over Washington. Elsewhere in the Mid-Illini, Dunlap beat Metamora 3-0. Lily Sutter scored two goals for the Eagles. In the Big 12, Normal Community beat Peoria High 7-0 while Peoria Notre Dame cruised past Champaign Centennial 8-0.

Tuesday also brought us a pair of college signings as Metamora basketball star Zack Schroeder signed with Wabash and Morton volleyball standout Oliva Pippin signed with Heartland.
