PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - A cold start to Friday morning is in store as temperatures have dropped into the lower 30′s across the region.

These colder temperatures will allow rain to transition to light snow through the morning. Snow showers will be possible through the late morning before we transition back to light rain as temperatures warm. While we will warm back up, temperatures will struggle with highs around 40 degrees.

Scattered snow showers will be possible this morning.

While we will see scattered snow this morning, we’re not expecting much in terms of accumulations. A minor dusting will be possible on grassy and elevated surfaces, otherwise, we won’t see any impacts from the snow.

The weekend will look a bit better with plenty of dry time and some warmer temperatures. Saturday will still trend on the cooler side with highs in the mid to upper 40′s. Sunday will be warmer with highs in the lower 60′s, but a few showers could arrive late in the evening.

Mild conditions return in the weekend's forecast.
