Cool start to the week followed by rain and storms
PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - You’ll want to have the coat or jacket as you head out for Monday morning’s drive as our streak of cooler conditions continues.
Temperatures this morning will run sub-freezing across the region with most in the mid to upper 20′s. Monday will feature a mix of sun and clouds. Expect mostly clear skies early ahead of building clouds by the afternoon. Temperatures will run about 10 degrees below average for this time of year, with highs in the mid to lower 40′s.
We’ll remain dry through much of Tuesday, but rain chances and winds will increase Tuesday afternoon and into the evening as our next storm system approaches. Gusts up to 30 miles per hour will be possible Tuesday. Expect a few showers by Tuesday evening.
Wednesday looks to bring widespread showers and storms back into the region. As this system exits Thursday morning, temperatures will cool. This could allow for a wintry mix to a few flurries through the morning.
