Soggy conditions the next few days

PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Get the rain gear ready to go! Scattered showers will be likely over the next several days across the Heart of Illinois.

A band of widespread rain is working its way through the region early this morning. This will pass before sunrise, leaving us with a bit of dry time through the mid to late morning. While we will see some dry time, a few showers will still be possible.

A greater chance for rain will return during the afternoon into the evening as the next band of rain enters. A few rumbles of thunder will be possible, but no strong storms are in our forecast.

Scattered showers will continue through Wednesday into Thursday morning’s forecast before the rain comes to an end. A few flurries cannot be ruled out at this time for Thursday morning, but no accumulations would occur with any flurries. The end of the work week will be cooler as a result of this system as daytime highs drop to the mid 40′s.
