PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Don’t forget the green as you head out the door this morning!

Another round of above average temperatures is in store for the holiday, with daytime highs in the mid to upper 60′s for most. Clouds will quickly overspread the region, leading to mostly cloudy conditions through much of the day.

A system will approach from the west, bringing the chance for a few stray showers during the evening. A better chance for rain will arrive Thursday night into Friday morning.

Have the rain gear ready for Friday, as the end of the work week looks to be a near washout. Steady rain can be expected through much of the day. This system will exit the region Saturday morning. A period of wintry mix or even light snow will be possible during this time, especially northwest of the Illinois River. While we could see some wintry precipitation, accumulations would remain minor at most and would quickly melt due to warm ground temperatures and above freezing temperatures.

Make sure to tune in this morning for the full 10 Day Forecast!
