Cold Friday ahead as snow comes to an end
PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Snowfall will gradually come to an end early this Friday morning. You’ll want to give yourself at least a few extra minutes for the morning drive, as slick spots are likely across the region. Roads are mostly covered with snow across much of the region per IDOT early this morning.

Expect snow to come to end by the end of the morning commute. It will be a cloudy, cold and breezy day with gusts up to 25 miles per hour out of the west/northwest. Temperatures will run near freezing, with highs in the upper 20′s to lower 30′s.

A cold front will push through the region tonight, bringing frigid conditions for Saturday morning. Overnight lows will drop into the single digits. Wind chills as cold as -10 will be possible by tomorrow morning.

The weekend will be a tale of two sides. Saturday will bring plenty of sunshine with freezing conditions before we quickly warm up by Sunday afternoon. Temperatures will warm all the way to the 50′s by Sunday afternoon!
