Mild Wednesday ahead of more snow
PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - It’s my pick of the week as plenty of sunshine and mild conditions continue.
Wednesday will be a near carbon-copy from Tuesday with temperatures in the 40′s and plenty of sunshine. We may see a few clouds early, but they will quickly filter out around daybreak.

Our next system will arrive by Thursday evening, bringing the next round of snow. Thursday morning will be cloudy but dry, as snow will hold off until the late afternoon/evening. Snow will steadily overspread the area and continue through Friday morning.

The best chances for snow will run Thursday evening into Thursday night before gradually tapering off through Friday morning. Accumulating snowfall is likely, but totals won’t be significant. Much of the area can expect 1-2″ of snow, but a few pockets of 2-3″ are possible, especially northwest of the Illinois River where snowfall totals look to be the greatest.

While snowfall totals won’t be overly impressive, they will be enough to create hazardous travel in some spots for Thursday night and Friday morning.
Bitter cold will arrive following this system, with lows in the single digits heading into the weekend. Sub-zero winds chills are likely by Saturday morning.
