A talent attraction campaign holds seminar to spread a common goal of attracting more people to Peoria
PEORIA (HEART OF ILLINOIS ABC) - A human resources summit today was focused toward one thing: getting on the same page, with a common goal of attracting more people to Peoria. Greater Peoria 2030 is a 10 year talent attraction effort for HR reps and realtors.
Speakers spoke on the benefits on spreading a positive and truthful message about Peoria, in hopes to attract more people and grow the population size.
The issue is that, from an online search, Peoria may not appear very good. Organizers here believe a consistent message with some positive attributes can go a long way. Audrey Kamm, Vice President of Operations for the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce, added “A lot of times when you google Peoria, the best news doesn’t come up. So, we are also working through SCO searches and marketing to try and reverse that.
We are also working on setting up an incentive for people to move here.” The Greater Peoria 2030 campaign has another event for all Peoria ambassadors at the Par-A-Dice Hotel on Friday March 18th at 9:30 a.m.
