PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Bond has been set at $1 million for the man accused of beating his two-year-old daughter to death.
Shamari Williams, 25, is accused of using his hands and belt to beat two-year-old Emorri Green.
She was found Tuesday morning with no pulse.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood and Green’s mother confirm to Heart of Illinois ABC that Williams is the toddler’s father.
Williams made his first appearance Thursday via Zoom. He is being held on two counts of murder, including a charge for murder of a child.
If convicted, he could face anywhere from 20-100 years in prison.
This case will go before a grand jury - standard practice in such felony cases.
Williams has been appointed a public defender.
His next appearance is March 3.
