Peoria deputy suspends campaign for sheriff
PEORIA COUNTY (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Not long after announcing his run for sheriff, deputy Blaine Duhs is bowing out.
Duhs made the announcement on Facebook after longtime sheriff’s office employee Chris Watkins announced he was also running.
Friends for 20 years and having grown up together at the sheriff’s office, Duhs says he and Watkins have a lot of the same views, ideas and direction that the sheriff’s office and law enforcement, in general, has to go.
Duhs says he will continue to serve Peoria County with the commitment that people have shown him.
