(Heart of Illinois ABC) - A busy Tuesday night of high school hoops was headlined by a couple of Mid-Illini vs. Big 12 battles and in both cases, the Big 12 came out on top. Peoria Notre Dame ran past Pekin at Hawkins Gym behind a big night from Cooper Koch. Meanwhile, over at the Lions Den, Peoria High cruised by Canton.

Tuesday also brought us Quarterfinal Night 2 at the HOI/McLean County Tournament. In the first matchup of the night Eureka snuck past Tremont to move to the semis behind 28 points from sophomore Tyler Heffren. Flanagan also moved into the final four with a win over Fieldcrest.

In ICAC action, it was a special night for Peoria Christian’s Wes Hunt as the Chargers senior eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for his career in a win over Brimfield. In the Illini Prairie, Cole Certa’s 19 points powered Bloomington Central Catholic past IVC.

In girls hoops, Metamora used a monster second half to pull away from Bloomington Central Catholic while Peoria High rolled past Canton.
