PEORIA (HEART OF ILLINOIS ABC) -Changes in population will cause Peoria leaders to redraw district boundaries.

And that process took another step forward Tuesday with a virtual meeting where three proposed maps were presented by city staff.

They need to expand three districts, while contracting the other two - Districts 4 and 5 - to ensure each has just over 22,600 people.

This was the fourth meeting in a process that started in September.

Another redistricting meeting is scheduled in two weeks, with others scheduled every two weeks through the end of March.
