(Heart of Illinois ABC) - It was a very busy Monday of high school hoops in the Heart of Illinois with plenty of tournament action around the area. On the first night of quarterfinals at the 110th McLean County Boys Basketball Tournament, top-seeded El Paso-Gridley advanced with a win over Heyworth. The Titans will play LeRoy who topped Lexington in a hard-fought battle.

At the Central Catholic Boys Basketball MLK Tournament, the host Saints finished off a 3-0 weekend with a win over Peoria Quest. Meanwhile, state-ranked Normal Community moved to 22-1 on the year with a win over Rockford Guilford. Elsewhere, Washington topped U-High for their third win in four days.

In girls hoops action, the Washington girls beat U-High after starting the game on a 25-5 run. State-ranked Peoria Notre Dame also took home a win, their 12th in a row, with a victory over Elmwood.

In HOI/McLean County Girls Tournament quarterfinal action, top-seeded Fieldcrest advanced with a win over Lexington. Tremont moved on with a W against Tri-Valley, Eureka topped Ridgeview to move to the semis and Dee-Mack beat El Paso-Gridley to do the same.
