Warm-up and temperature crash
The title is accurate.
PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Well, we have a quiet start to the week after yet another semi-eventful weekend. Highs today reached the low-30s but it has been mainly cloudy today. Tonight, the clouds will likely not go many places with lows tonight dropping to the low-20s. The wind should calm down as we go deeper into the overnight hours.
Highs tomorrow will be nice! Highs in the low-40s are expected, but it will be breezy. Wind chill values will not reflect the measured temperatures but they won’t be in the teens like they have been lately. Partly sunny skies will dominate the region going into the night hours where temperatures will drop to the low-20s again.
Looking ahead to Wednesday, not looking forward to this one. The high temperature will likely happen while we’re all asleep and the temperature will fall into the low teens by the afternoon. Lows Wednesday night will drop to near zero and you can probably guess where the wind chill values will be.
Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day where we remember a trailblazer in Civil Rights in America. May the way you remember him today reflect your actions over the next 364 days.
