Peoria Christian, Illini Bluffs advance to ICAC Tournament Championship

(Heart of Illinois ABC) - It’ll be Class 1A No. 5 Peoria Christian taking on the host Illini Bluff Tigers on Saturday night for the ICAC Tournament final.

The Chargers advanced to the championship game with a win over ROWVA-Williamsfield behind 16 points from Kitan Isawumi and a 14-point, 13-rebound double-double from Wes Hunt. IB moved on to the title game with a win over Brimfield that saw Brandon Coats pour in 17 points and freshman Devon White add another 13 for the Tigers. The title game is Saturday night at 6:30 p.m.

In girls hoops, Normal Community topped crosstown rival Normal West 55-40 behind 25 points from sophomore Olivia Corson. In the Heart of Illinois Conference, Eureka junior Ellie Cahill eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for her career in a win over Lexington. Elsewhere in the HOI, Fieldcrest topped El Paso-Gridley behind 18 points from Haley Carver while Tremont took home a win against Dee-Mack. Bloomington Central Catholic was also a winner with a victory against Kankakee Bishop McNamara.
