McLean County Health Dept. reports more than 1,000 new COVID cases; adds vaccination clinics

PEORIA (25 NEWS) - 92% of ICU beds are in use and 99% of total beds are in use in McLean County.

Wednesday, hospitals reported 66 patients are hospitalized with COVID-19; 50 of those are McLean County residents.

The McLean County Health Department reported 1,070 new cases since Tuesday and 5,366 new cases since one week ago.

The total of probable and confirmed cases is close to 38,500.

5,983 individuals are isolating at home.

Over 739,000 tests have been processed for a cumulative positivity rate of 5.2%.

According to the CDC Data Tracker, McLean County is experiencing high community transmission based on the 7-day moving average of new cases per 100,000.

That number is currently 3,004.95 per 100,000.

  • Wednesday, 01/12 from 10am-3pm at Grossinger Motors Arena, Bloomington
  • Thursday, 01/13 from 10am-3pm at Grossinger Motors Arena, Bloomington
  • Thursday, 01/13 from 9am-3pm at the ARC (Activity and Recreation Center), Normal (this clinic operated by IDPH/IEMA)
  • Tuesday, 01/18 from 10am-3pm at Grossinger Motors Arena, Bloomington
  • Wednesday, 01/19 from 10am-1pm at Grossinger Motors Arena, Bloomington
  • Thursday, 01/20 from 10am-3pm at Grossinger Motors Arena, Bloomington

New COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics for age 5-11 only added:

  • Wednesday, 01/19 from 1pm-3pm at Grossinger Motors Arena, Bloomington

Around 252,544 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in McLean County and 58.67% of the population are fully vaccinated.

61.17% of Illinois residents are fully vaccinated.
