Male juvenile arrested, suspected in multiple Peoria Police cases
PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - A 15-year-old male was detained and later arrested, suspected of committing burglaries in Woodford County and is suspected in other Peoria Police cases.
During a search of a residence in the 1500 block of South Easton in Peoria, officers located several items of evidentiary value as well as an illegal firearm.
According to a Peoria Police Department release, Peoria Police were contacted on Monday, January 10 by the Woodford County Sheriff’s Office regarding an investigation they were conducting into several vehicle burglaries that occurred in their jurisdiction on January 8.
The 15-year-old was arrested for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and No FOID.
He will be charged in Woodford County on several other charges including but not limited to the theft of a motor vehicle, felony burglary and felony weapons charges, according to a release from the Woodford County Sheriff’s Office.
They say several items were recovered - including one handgun.
This investigation continues and the sheriff’s office expects more arrests to follow.
