Eureka boys, Elmwood girls win tourney titles | State Farm Classic semifinals

(Heart of Illinois ABC) - A remarkable week of basketball ended in heartbreaking fashion for Morton on Wednesday as the Potters came up just short in the Pekin Insurance Holiday Tournament final against Chicago Mt. Carmel. In the third place game, Washington topped Pattonville while Richwoods beat the host Dragons in the consolation championship.

At the Princeville Tournament, Midland came up short against Ridgewood in the tournament title. Elmwood beat the host Princes for 3rd place.

In the Macomb-Western Holiday Tournament, Eureka and Farmington both won early afternoon semifinal matchups to set up an all-area championship game that the Hornets won.

At the Manual Tournament, Dunlap fell short in the title game against Lincoln while Peoria High beat Lanphier in the 3rd place game.

At the Princeville girls tournament, Elmwood topped Tremont in the title game.

In State Farm Classic semifinal action, the Normal Community boys, El Paso-Gridley boys and the Brimfield girls all advanced to title games set for Thursday.
